Steph Copeland!

Electro/pop artist and film composer Steph Copeland performs live at The Piston (Toronto) featuring performances by Mermaids Exist and pop duo Tiger & Bloom. $10 cover. 9PM

Steph Copeland:

Electro-pop artist Steph Copeland is a producer and singer/songwriter based out of Toronto. Born and raised in Wallaceburg Ontario, she began her foray into producing via heavy influence from the Windsor/Detroit electronic music scene.
Copeland’s delicate vocals against grinding synths and pristine beats have critics describing her sound as “atmospheric and
dangerous.”

A composer for film and TV and member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, Steph Copeland has scored 12 feature films (Bite, Antisocial 1&2, Bed of The Dead, The
Heretics) and a number of commercials, trailers and series’ (Pan Am Games, National Ballet School of Canada, Anne of Green Gables).

In 2015, she released her debut electropop album Public Panic, mixed and engineered by Matt Rideout (Yellow Wood) and written entirely by Copeland. The LP was lauded by publications such
as Exclaim!, New Canadian Music, Electric Agenda and more. It was featured on national campus radio charts and resulted in a publishing deal with the New York based Memory Lane Music Group. Copeland’s most recent release “Little Boxes” featuring Swedish platinum producer Freek van Workum premiered via MagneticMagazine in March of 2017 and was featured by Discobelle, Music Is My Radar, Vents + Music Is My Life..

Tiger and Bloom:

YIN & YANG. Opposite forces. Complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world that give rise to each other as they connect. Canadian pop duo Tiger & Bloom is a fusion of two opposing energies that have come together in their relentless love, passion and obsession for creating music. The stars aligned in 2015 when Tiger Rose (vocals, guitar, drums) and Rikki Bloom (vocals, piano, synth) met while pursuing musical careers in their own right, looking to be revived and rejuvenated in their songwriting. They began their new journey, hungry to create something beyond this universe, expressing themselves musically without limitations.

The chemistry of Tiger & Bloom was undeniable from the moment they began writing. Tiger, an eccentric Rock musician, formerly the vocalist for the band ‘Broken Sons,’ brings energy beyond the sun. Bloom, kind and soft spoken with tremendous success as a YouTube solo artist delivers complexity and grace. The fusion of their spirits combined in perfect balance to create a sound that expresses their individuality with the purpose of rejuvenating, energizing and inspiring all those that hear it.

Mermaids Exist:

Mermaids Exist is a five-piece ensemble that has performed at notable venues such as The Horseshoe Tavern and The Home County Music Festival. Influenced by artists such as John Mayer and Canadian classic rock group The Band, the Merms have created a melting pot of their individual influences to develop a genre rooted in the deep lyrical strengths of a singer-songwriter with the big bang that a band brings. Their live performances are filled with energy and beautiful vocal harmonies, which will be captured in their first full length album, set for release in the summer of 2016. The Mermaids are no longer mythical. They will reel you in with their charm, their moves, and their grooves and have you begging for more. Once you’ve heard them, the only answer to the question “Do Mermaids Exist?” will be: Yes. And they rock.

Come join us as we Yaw and Roll to the "Doobie bounce" of an ill-defined and oft-maligned genre of smooth, sophisticated, west coast adult oriented rock that once ruled the airwaves between 1978 and 1984 until it eventually lost its way and became the vacuous dumpster fire known as modern rock radio.
